The G4C Student Challenge is a citywide competition that invites NYC middle and high school students to create games about issues impacting their communities. Winning games are celebrated at an awards ceremony where students receive recognition, awesome prizes and career-oriented experiential opportunities.
Teachers apply to join the year-long program.
Teacher applications are vetted; new teachers are accepted into program and returning teachers rejoin.
Teachers are trained during 2 days of professional development; game courses launch in schools.
Competition opens for submissions; students have two months to submit their games.
Educators receive additional training and prep for the competition.
Submission portal closes; games are evaluated by industry professionals.
Student finalists showcase their games and winners are revealed at a culminating Awards Ceremony.
Over 75 teachers from all five NYC boroughs were selected to receive training to run game design courses at their schools. Students in the courses are learning how to use Scratch and Unity through the Mouse Impact Game Design curriculum.

NEW YORK ON TECH – TECH360 is a free, 9-week after-school program for 10th-12th graders enrolled in NYC schools. Learn the fundamentals of web development, develop a portfolio of technology projects, gain priority eligibility into the Tech Flex Leaders program and get to participate in professionals opportunities at companies in NYC.
PER SCHOLAS: NEW YORK – Free IT job training in cities where it is needed most.
PIXEL ACADEMY MINI CAMPS – Single-day mini-camps on most school holidays throughout the fall in NYC.
THE CODING SPACE – Coding for students of all ages, beginners through advanced.
THE KNOWLEDGE HOUSE – Program dedicated to bringing innovation, technology and entrepreneurship to the south Bronx.
ZANIAC – Several programs are offered after school and during the summer to teach students K-8 math and technology through project-based learning. Programs run through the office on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
